Farmer-leaders from 12 states met Aug. 11-14, in Greensboro, N.C., for Part I of the 2014-2015 ASA Leadership At Its Best program, sponsored by Syngenta.

This program recognizes up and coming soybean farmer-leaders and provides them with extensive training to further develop their leadership skills and provide them with additional education on communication styles, strategic planning, media training and business etiquette.

A few social events incorporated into the program allowed time for participants to visit with farmer-leaders from the National Corn Growers Association, who were also participating in Part 1 of their Leadership At Its Best program. During the class, attendees also had the chance to hear from leaders on ASA’s Executive Committee who are graduates of the program, including ASA President Ray Gaesser (IA), First Vice President Wade Cowan (TX) and Vice President Bob Henry (KS).
