ASA/WISHH Co-Hosts Seminar in Pakistan to Discuss Aquaculture

The American Soybean Association’s World Initiative for Soy in Human Health Program (ASA/WISHH) recently co-hosted a seminar in Pakistan with Kansas State University (KSU) as part of the USDA-funded FEEDing Pakistan program. More than 160 participants attended the seminar representing fish farmers, fish traders, government officials and academia from the Multan and Muzafar Ghar region. Dr. Kevin Fitzsimmons from the University of Arizona spoke on lessons learned in Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal and Thailand regarding tilapia and carp farm management. The value of soybean meal in fish feed was discussed by ASA/WISHH Country Representative R.S.N. Janjua and Dr. Mike Woolverton discussed the importance of proper training for the aquaculture industry.
