ASA Chairman Participates in RFD-TV 2016 Presidential Candidate Town Hall Series

Jul 23, 2015

During RFD-TV’s new Rural Town Hall series, the American Soybean Association (ASA) had the opportunity to ask a 2016 presidential candidate questions about agricultural issues.

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal is the first presidential candidate to appear on the new program, which is a series of one-hour prime-time specials focusing on rural American issues in advance of the 2016 presidential election.

The first forum was conducted last week at the Stine Barn in West Des Moines, Iowa, where Gov. Jindal outlined his vision on issues such as healthcare, broadband, education and agriculture.

ASA Chairman Ray Gaesser, Corning, Iowa, attended the forum and asked Jindall about his stance on agricultural biotechnology and genetically modified organisms (GMOs). To see what Jindall had to say, catch Rural Town Hall on RFD-TV when it premieres on Thursday, July 23rd at 10 p.m. ET.

Questions are solicited from RFD-TV viewers, commodity organizations like ASA, rural educators, healthcare officials and officials from small rural communities facing unique challenges. All presidential candidates are expected to participate in this important forum over the coming weeks.
