ASA Urges Presidential Hopefuls to Recognize Role of Agriculture & Renewable Energy

Mar 05, 2015

ASA urged participants of the upcoming Iowa Ag Summit to show support for the critical role of renewable energy and public policies that contribute to a strong and vibrant rural economy.

ASA joined 24 other organizations on a letter led by the 25x25 Coalition this week.

The 2015 Iowa Ag Summit on March 7 is intended to highlight and promote agriculture and allow elected officials and public policy leaders to have a public discussion on issues vital to the Iowa and American economy. Twelve of the potential Republican candidates for President in 2016 have agreed to attend. Speakers are given an opportunity to address the audience, then have a conversation on a range of issues concerning American agriculture. Topics include modern agriculture, renewable fuels, biosciences, GMO’s, grain and livestock markets, land conservation, and federal subsidies.
