This week, the American Soybean Association’s World Initiative for Soy in Human Health (ASA/WISHH) program staff and committee members met in St. Louis for their December meeting. Thirteen grower leaders attended, as well as USSEC representative Marypat Corbett and three state staff members from various states.

WISHH Strategic Planning Consultant Gretchen Flanley of Sherpa 360 presented the final version of the new WISHH strategic plan, which was adopted by Committee members at the meeting.  In addition, the grower leader-led subcommittees reported on communications, finances and administrative items.  The Communications Subcommittee discussed and encouraged wide release of a WISHH results infographic, which can be found on the WISHH website here.

Committee members and staff also took a moment to congratulate WISHH Committee member Jack Trumbo of Kentucky on winning the Kentucky Farm Bureau “Farmer of the Year” award. In addition to the statewide recognition and prizes, Jack will represent Kentucky in the Swisher Sweets/Sunbelt Ag Expo Southeastern “Farmer of the Year” contest, the “South’s most prestigious agricultural award,” in October 2015 to compete against nine other state winners for the chance to win a $15,000 award from Swisher International and several other sponsor-based prizes.
