ASA/WISHH Technical Consultant Visits Nigeria

Oct 31, 2013

The American Soybean Association’s World Initiative for Soy in Human Health’s (ASA/WISHH) meat technician travelled to Nigeria this week to provide technical assistance to DuPont (formerly Solae), Zaika Foods, and their customers. Hamilton is working with the group at Zaika Foods’ meat training facility to build internal capacity regarding the utilization of soy brines in poultry and other meat products. The training specifically focuses on the use of soy brine marinades and flavourings.

While in Nigeria, Hamilton also participated in a two-day poultry expo, where he presented on the nutritional benefits of soy and its technical applications in poultry. ASA/WISHH was represented with a booth at the expo where Hamilton was available to answer questions about industry-wide applications. Following the expo, Hamilton will work with Zaika Foods and their customers on the utilization of soy brines in their meat product formulations. Hamilton’s trip was funded by the USDA’s Market Access Program (MAP).
