American Soybean Association (ASA) board members Bill Gordon (MN) and Kevin Scott (SD), along with ASA staff, participated in the BNSF Ag Rail Business Council meeting in Washington, D.C. this week. The council is a forum for dialogue between BNSF and their ag customers.
A significant topic of discussion at the meeting this week was the current trade issues and resulting impacts on rail and transportation logistics.
BNSF representatives provided an outlook on ag product movements and the overall economy and rail system. Representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) also participated in the meeting to provide updates and insights.
