Former Sen. Dorgan Touts Biodiesel Success at NBB Annual Meeting

Feb 14, 2013

Members of the National Biodiesel Board (NBB) met in Last Vegas last week for the NBB Annual Conference, which focused on future industry growth and issues surrounding the Renewable Fuel Standard.

In addition to a keynote address from Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack, former Sen. Byron Dorgan of North Dakota, currently Chair of the Bipartisan Policy Center's Strategic Energy Policy Initiative, spoke to the conference, touting the tremendous success that the biodiesel industry has achieved for an industry of its size and the importance of the U.S. to maintain its support and commitment to alternative and domestic energy sources such as biodiesel.

ASA was well represented at the meeting, as ASA Board member Mike Cunningham, who serves on the NBB Governing Board, and ASA Vice President Bob Worth joined ASA members, ASA Washington staff, state soybean association staff, and soybean industry partners to discuss issues impacting the biodiesel industry.

This year’s conference also marked the 20th Anniversary for NBB.
