House, Senate Settle on Short Term Transportation Bill

Jul 29, 2015

Congress settled on a short-term bill this week that keeps transportation authority funded through Oct. 29—setting the stage for negotiations over a long-term extension this fall.

According to Politico, the House will vote on the three-month extension Wednesday before heading off to recess a day early and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the upper chamber will take up that bill.

A top priority for the American Soybean Association (ASA) is a provision to increase truck weight limits on federal interstates.
