Hoyer Testifies Before EPA Scientific Advisory Panel on Glyphosate

Dec 15, 2016

Wisconsin soybean grower Kevin Hoyer provided public comments on behalf of the American Soybean Association (ASA) in front of an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) scientific advisory panel regarding the organization’s evaluation of the carcinogenic potential of glyphosate.

"I want to impress upon the panel how important glyphosate is to pursue what I believe is our common goal: continually improving the environmental sustainability of crop protection, while growing a safe and abundant food supply," said Hoyer, a former ASA director and governing committee member.

Hoyer added glyphosate is instrumental in conservation practices and urged the agency to conduct a timely and science-based review of the herbicide, which takes into account the decades of research demonstrating its safety and important benefits to agriculture sustainability.
