Review Label Requirements and Spraying Resources for Dicamba Before Planting

Apr 26, 2018

As growers head into planting season nd prepare to use dicamba/auxin type products, they must be aware of label directions and the resources available to ensure the best experience possible. Below are a few resources from Monsanto and BASF.

Monsanto is committed to ensuring an outstanding experience with Roundup Ready Xtend soybeans and XtendiMax with VaporGrip Technology, a restricted use pesticide.

As you prepare to spray XtendiMax herbicide with VaporGrip Technology this season, you should know there are many resources available to help you have the best experience possible.

At the 2018 Commodity Classic in Anaheim, Calif., BASF debuted its new mobile solution, which provides applicators with a mobile-friendly, easy-to-access, digital stewardship resource center in the palm of their hands.

“This new mobile solution allows educational tools to continue to aid those applicators and growers who plan to use Engenia herbicide in 2018 after they have attended a required training session,” said Chad Asmus, BASF Technical Marketing Manager.

The new mobile app solution can be found by visiting EngeniaStewardship.com. This app provides the grower with a host of tools, resources, information and training, such as a spray checklist, a record-keeping form and information on where to attend a dicamba or auxin-specific training session. All of these tools are ready and available at growers’ fingertips to help get the most out of their herbicide applications and have the best growing season possible.

An immersive virtual reality experience on Engenia herbicide also debuted at Commodity Classic. This tool provides information on Engenia herbicide’s chemistry and the benefits of using the product on dicamba-tolerant soybeans and cotton.

“The public has heard the word ‘dicamba’ many times throughout the last couple of months,” said Asmus. “We hope that this virtual reality experience helps provide some insight into how Engenia herbicide is different from not only competitive products on the market, but also older formulations.”

For cotton and soybean growers, and any custom applicators they work with, these are powerful tools. By understanding the chemistry and having thorough details on application best practices, these resources will help them successfully overcome weed resistance issues through proper stewardship practices.
