Soy Growers, Industry Leaders Discuss RFS, Tax Credit at National Biodiesel Conference

Representatives from the soybean industry attended the annual National Biodiesel Board (NBB) conference this week, participating in discussions on the challenges and uncertainty with federal policy priorities, such as the annual Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS) volumes, future threats to the RFS, the biodiesel tax credit, and trade cases to address imports of subsidized foreign biodiesel.

Mike Cunningham, American Soybean Association (ASA) representative to the NBB and vice chairman of the NBB governing board, along with ASA staff, numerous state soybean association staff and soybean farmers attended.

Representatives also discussed market dynamics, mutual interests and conflicts between the petroleum and biofuels industries.
