Soy Growers to Promote U.S. Soy Market in North Asia Buyers

Nov 03, 2016

American Soybean Association (ASA) Director Monte Peterson, Valley City, N.D., heads to North Asia next week, along with other growers, to promote U.S. soy and discuss market outlook and sustainability.

The Buyers Outlook Conferences are funded by the United Soybean Board (USB) and hosted by the U.S. Soybean Export Council. Peterson, who is also a USSEC director, joins Perry Ostmo, director of North Dakota Soybean Council, Walter Godwin (USB) and USSEC staff in Seoul, Korea and Shanghai, China to meet with U.S. customers.

The purpose of the trip is to interact with U.S. customers and provide an overview of the U.S. and global markets, in addition to information about the quality, sustainability and other benefits of U.S. soy.

The North Asian market is extremely important to the mission of the U.S. soy family, as 70 percent of U.S. soybean exports go to this region.
