Jul 26, 2018

The soybean family had a large and leading presence at this week’s Agricultural Transportation Summit, which provided a deep dive into issues covering all modes of transportation, including inland waterways, ports, rail and trucking.

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue was the keynote speaker and stressed the vital role that transportation plays in the competitiveness of U.S agriculture and the impact it has on a farmer’s bottom line.

American Soybean Association (ASA) board members Gerry Hayden, Ken Boswell, Scott Metzger and Joel Schreurs attended the summit, as well as ASA Washington representatives and numerous other soybean farmers and state soybean association representatives.

The event, held in Arlington, Va. was sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and hosted by the National Grain & Feed Association and the Soy Transportation Coalition.
