A Thanksgiving Message from ASA President Wade Cowan

Nov 25, 2015

Dear Friends,

Wade in FieldI wanted to wish a happy Thanksgiving to you and your families and thank you for the honor of serving soybean farmers as ASA’s president this year. From the beginning of my term, my goal was to come together this year to unify and move agriculture forward. As I sit back and consider everything we accomplished in and out of the fields, I’m filled with gratitude for our entire soybean family.

Our victories this year included steps forward for international trade and GMO labeling, but as always there is more work to be done in the coming year. I’m thankful to work with such a dedicated group of soybean leaders and know that our future is in good hands.

As you sit around your family dinner tables this holiday and reflect on what you’re thankful for this year, take a moment to remember what a blessing it is to contribute to the Thanksgiving feast for families across the country. During this celebration of harvest, reflect on your part in the tradition—from the cab of your combine to the hand shake with your lawmaker on Capitol Hill—you are helping advance agriculture and providing the food, fiber and fuel for our communities, nation and world.

From West Texas, my wife Valerie and I and our children Kelcie, Brittany and Alan, would like to wish you a blessed and happy Thanksgiving!
