Gary Hendrix farms approximately 2,800 acres of soybeans (about half are seed beans) along with corn, cotton, peanuts, rapeseed, and triticale.
His grandfather started the farm in the mid 1930s. Gary is a third-generation farmer. He farms with his wife, Lynn, and their three sons. They also have a daughter who lives in California.
Gary is a past ASA Dupont Young Leader. He has served as a North Carolina soybean board member for many years. During that time, he has served in several leadership roles, including secretary, vice president, and president. He currently serves as treasurer.
Gary has also served over 20 years on his local soil and water conservation board. He served 15 years as a farm credit director and is a current director for Cotton Inc. He is also an Elder in Raeford Presbyterian church, currently serving as treasurer.
