Jimmie Lee Shaw farms with his father and business partner in Newberry, South Carolina. The diversified farm produces soybeans, corn, cotton and wheat. In addition to row crops, the farm has a cow calf operation that includes raising silage and producing coastal bermuda hay.
Jimmie Lee has served in various leadership roles with different agricultural organizations. These roles include president of his local Beef Cattleman Association and Young Farmer and Agribusinessmen. He serves as a South Carolina Farm Bureau board member and past South Carolina Farm Bureau Young Farmer and Rancher state committee. Jimmie Lee has been recognized by South Carolina Farm Bureau as a Government Relations All-Star, SC YF&R Discussion Meet Winner, SC YF&R Excellence in Agriculture Award Winner, and SC YF&R Achievement Award Winner. As an active member of his community, he serves as a volunteer firefighter, a local Cooperative Extension Advisory Board member, and a past St. James Lutheran Church Council member.
Jimmie Lee is a member of the South Carolina Corn and Soybean Association. In 2022, he was appointed the American Soybean Association director for South Carolina. He is excited to be working with other soybean farmers from across the nation to further develop the industry.
He enjoys spending his spare time with his wife, Katie, and two daughters, Ellie and Liza. His daughters love spending time at the farm and raising their show livestock. He is thrilled to be raising the next generation of agriculturists.
