Jimmy Thomas, a farmer from Timberlake, N.C., has been on the American Soybean Association (ASA) Board of Directors since 2017.
He’s served as president of the North Carolina Soybean Producers Association, vice president of Person County Farm Bureau, president of North Carolina Farm Bureau Swine Committee and on the Farm Bureau Field Crops Advisory.
Thomas has farmed for more than 30 years with his brother and my father.
“We are fortunate to be able to continue producing on our family farm which was started over 100 years ago,” he said.
Along with soybeans, they produce wheat, corn and flue-cured tobacco. They have one of the last few independent farrow to finish swine operations in their area.
Thomas is a graduate of North Carolina State University. He and his wife Janine have two adult children, David Thomas and Ashley Thomas who also work in agricultural businesses.
