Luke is a 3rd generation farmer from Deville, Louisiana. He serves as a contributing member and 2nd Vice President of the Louisiana Cotton and Grain Association, a trade and policy group that is made up of cotton and grain farmers for the betterment of Louisiana Agriculture.
Luke grows soybeans, corn, cotton, grain sorghum and rice on 7000 acres, 4000 of that being in soybeans annually. Ninety percent of his acreage is precision leveled that utilizes furrow irrigation, but the greatest benefit of precision graded ground is adequate and uniform drainage as he has up to 60+ inches of rainfall annually. He and his wife have two daughters, Lauralee (13) and Chandler (9).
