Michael Petefish farms on a multi-generational farm dating back at least five generations. The current farm was established in 1951 when his grandpa moved to Minnesota from Iowa. Petefish completed his Bachelor of Science at the University of Minnesota with a double major in plant biology and plant breeding and genetics. He subsequently attended the University of Florida for a master’s in molecular genetics. Petefish returned to the farm after college in Florida and began a partnership with his father. He has been the sole owner and manager since his father’s retirement in 2018. Petefish farms over 2,000 acres of soybeans and corn. He is married with one son.
