Phil Ramsey is a fourth-generation farmer from Shelbyville, Indiana. He farms soybeans, corn and wheat in partnership with his wife, Cindy, and sons, James and Joey. He also owns a farm excavation and drainage business with his sons. Phil has been on Indiana Soybean Alliance for over three years and was chair of the membership and policy committee, the executive committee and served the state on the Soy Transportation Coalition.
Phil attended the Purdue University winter short course. He is on the Shelby County Farm Bureau Board, Shelby County Ag Promotion Committee, and Manilla Volunteer Fire Department. He attends Shelbyville Church of the Nazarene, where he has been treasurer and chairman of the trustees, plus has lead or been on 20 mission trips to Columbia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Guatemala, Africa and others. Phil and his wife, Cindy, have four children, Julia, Jon, James and Joey. Phil's hobbies are collecting Allis Chalmers tractors and spending time with his 12 granddaughters and one grandson, named after his "Papaw."
