Ron Kindred farms 1,700 acres of soybeans and corn in Atlanta, Illinois, with his wife, Jayne, and son, Jay. The family implements no-till and minimum till practices on their operation. Kindred previously served on the ASA board from 2004-13 and has more than 17 years of service on the Illinois Soybean Board. He represented Illinois on ASA’s executive committee for four years, serving as secretary and an at-large member.
Kindred has served many years on the ISA executive committee and held the roles of chairman, vice chairman and secretary. He is a past chairman of the Illinois Soybean Growers PAC and a soy advocate for the ISG’s Voice for Soy program. Kindred served 21 years on the Logan County Farm Bureau Board, 12 years as Atlanta Township Trustee and 12 years, including five as president, on the East Lincoln Farmers Grain Board.
