Rusty Goebel is a third-generation farmer from Stryker, Ohio. He and his wife, Sue, have two grown children and two grandchildren. Rusty farms with his son in a grain operation, growing soybeans, corn, wheat and alfalfa. He also has a contract finishing hog operation, finishes beef cattle and a trucking business.
Rusty started his first term on the American Soybean Association board in 2023. He serves on the regulatory advocacy team. He has attended many ASA meetings and completed its Soybean Leadership Academy.
He was elected to the Ohio Soybean Association in 2018, serving as secretary, treasurer and currently, vice president. He is a member of Ohio Farm Bureau, Ohio Corn and Wheat Growers and Ohio Pork Producers.
Rusty started farming full-time in 1975. He has been an elected township trustee for 32 years and serves as chairperson of the Stryker Farmers Cooperative. He is active in his church.
