Ryan is a third-generation family farmer who raises soybeans, corn and wheat. He also has a contract finishing swine operation. He farms in partnership with his mother and father as Rhoades Farms, along with his wife Amanda and their four children, Hanah, Stone, Olive & Darcy. Rhoades studied at Wiimington College in Wilmington, OH, and holds two degrees, one in agriculture and the other in Spanish.
Rhoades served as president, vice president, and treasurer of the Ohio Soybean Association. Before OSA and the American Soybean Association, he was actively involved with the county FSA committee as chair. He is an active church member and serves as church trustee.
