Wade Cowan, a soybean producer in Brownfield, Texas, is a past president of the American Soybean Association (ASA).
Cowan has served on the Texas Soybean Board since 2006 and has been an ASA national director since 2010.
He is an eighth generation Texas farmer, who owns more than 1,500 acres of farmland in western Texas. He has more than 30 years of experience raising crops, including guar, cotton, wheat, grain, sorghum and soybeans.
Cowan has a Bachelor and Master of economics from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas and Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.
He and his wife Valerie have three children: Kelcie, Brittany and Alan.
Cowan is also a member of the Brownfield First Baptist Church, the Brownfield Optimist Organization, South Plains Community Action Board and the Rural Transportation Board.
