The American Soybean Association (ASA) represents all U.S. soybean farmers on domestic and international policy issues important to the soybean industry. Position Summary 

Under the direction of the ASA President, the ASA Governing Committee and the ASA Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer will provide strategic leadership and daily management of all aspects of the Association. The CEO will participate in, provide direction to, and oversee the governance of the organizational structure, programs, staff, financial matters, legal matters and contractual relationships of the association. The CEO will work in partnership with and report to the ASA President, ASA Governing Committee and ASA Board of Directors.

Summary of Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This person must be a leader with proven relevant executive leadership experience and a track record of supporting dynamic organization leadership. They will be an innovative, strategic thinker with proven leadership, communications, advocacy, and relationship-building skills, and will possess significant organizational management experience. In addition, an individual must have a willingness to travel domestically and globally and relocate to St. Louis or Washington DC.

Education and Experience

A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics or similar degree. Master’s degree is preferred. Working knowledge of associations, agriculture, and agriculture-related businesses. Working knowledge of Executive and Legislative branches of U.S. government and how they relate to the different regulatory agencies.
