House Subcommittee Holds Hearing on RFS; More May be Held this Summer

Jun 06, 2013

Earlier this week, a subcommittee of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform held a hearing on the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), featuring a panel of mostly anti-RFS industry representatives, including the head of the American Petroleum Institute. The hearing was focused mainly on the ethanol "blend wall" but included strong general criticism of the RFS.

The Committee on Oversight and Government Reform has no legislative authority over the RFS, but the Energy & Commerce Committee, which does have such authority, may also hold hearings on the RFS in the coming months.

The Energy & Commerce Committee has issued several white papers for stakeholder comment and you can view ASA’s comments here.
