This year’s Soybean Leadership Academy featured interactive learning opportunities with industry leading speakers, along with soybean grower and staff leaders from across the country—and even a bit of sunshine.
Last week in Bonita Springs, Florida, more than 100 grower leaders and staff took part in the two-day training, designed to provide tools and techniques that enable state and national soybean board and association leaders to be more effective, efficient, and inspired leaders. Throughout the program, participants had the opportunity to engage with speakers and each other.
Featured speakers included Jennifer Coleman, Aimpoint Research; Mary Byers, author, Race to Relevance; Jim Meffert, Tecker International; Michael Gallery, Opis; Scott Hutchins, consultant and Ebony Webber, MANRRS. The program also featured a panel on the future of fuel with Alan Weber, Marc IV, Nathan Crum, Valley Pacific Petroleum and ASA Economist Scott Gerlt. A grower panel featuring Brad Doyle, ASA president; Ralph Lott, USB chair and Monte Peterson, USSEC chair/ASA director capped off the event.
Participants also heard from industry leaders, including Robbie Upton, director of marketing, BASF and Ryan Locke, industry relations manager, FMC.
“ASA is grateful to the industry and state partners that made the 2022 Soybean Leadership Academy a resounding success,” said ASA President Brad Doyle. “We also appreciate those who participated in the program. We are fortunate to have such strong leaders at the state and national level who are committed to the continued success and future of the soybean industry.”
