ASA Celebrates National Ag Day 2016

Mar 15, 2016

The American Soybean Association (ASA) is proud to join its colleagues and the entire agriculture industry as we celebrate National Agriculture Day.

The ASA Board of Directors is in Washington, D.C. this week for its annual spring meeting and will participate in various ceremonies to commemorate.

Each day out in their fields, farmers work to provide the food, fiber and fuel for our communities. When they meet with lawmakers on The Hill, they’re taking steps to advance agriculture for the future. Today that work is in the spotlight, but it’s important to remember throughout the year.

“It’s vital for every American to learn about what farmers do,” said ASA President Richard Wilkins, a farmer from Greenwood, Del. “It’s important that as growers, we always help shine the light on our work and the role agriculture plays in our everyday life and the economy. We should keep sharing our stories, answering questions, incorporating and fighting for new technology every day to continue to advance agriculture to feed our growing families, nation and world.”

The Agriculture Council of America (ACA) started National Ag Day in 1973 to spread awareness and support the industry.
