ASA joined more than 130 national, regional and state groups in a letter to congressional agriculture committee leaders, urging them to include mandatory funding for Energy Title programs in the farm bill. Specifically, ASA supports mandatory funding for the Biobased Market Program and the Biodiesel Education Program.
Both programs were funded in the Senate bill, but were only authorized in the House bill, which provided no mandatory funding for Energy Title programs. The Senate bill provides $3 million per year for the Biobased Market Program and $1 million per year for the Biodiesel Education Program.
