Davie Stephens and Wade Cowan participate in a mock negotiation exercise.
Six ASA directors met in San Antonio this week to participate in the first ASA Advanced Leadership At Its Best Program, sponsored by Syngenta. In this first program, farmer-leaders received valuable training to improve their negotiation strategies, conflict resolution and consensus building.
Directors who participated in the program included ASA President Wade Cowan, ASA Treasurer Davie Stephens, ASA Vice President Bret Davis and Directors Sam Butler, Ed Erickson and Gerry Hayden. This first class will participate in another session of leadership training later this year. Other topics that may be covered through this advanced leadership program in the future include executive media training, issues management, association leadership, advocacy, crisis communications training and possibly other subjects depending on training needs determined by ASA’s executive leadership. ASA appreciates the support provided by Syngenta for this important leadership training.
