ASA March Meetings Changed to Teleconferencing

Mar 12, 2020

Due to concerns regarding COVID-19, ASA has canceled its annual in-person March meetings in Washington, D.C., including World Initiative for Soy in Human Health (WISHH) and ASA Action Partnership (ASAAP) meetings. The association has instead opted to conduct a Virtual Board of Directors Meeting General Session on Wednesday morning, March 18, at 8 a.m. Central/9 a.m. Eastern.

The ASA Governing Committee and senior staff considered several factors related to the COVID-19 pandemic, including the safety of attendees, decisions of similar organizations and industry partner travel restrictions, and potential outcomes should the situation worsen in D.C.

Registered attendees will receive information via email regarding how to access the virtual meeting of ASA’s General Session, along with a revised agenda. Attendees also should have received information on changing travel plans, including hotels booked through ASA.

ASA is confident that it can continue to advocate for soy growers in D.C. and will look for additional opportunities to engage the board and states in lieu of the annual March Hill visits this year. Once concerns over public safety subside, we look forward to scheduling fly-ins and other meetings to continue our mission of advocating on behalf of U.S. soybean farmers.
