ASA board member Joe Steinkamp participated in a video-taped interview with Paul Schrimpf, of PrecisionAg, about the role of precision agriculture in sustainable soybean production at the PrecisionAg Institute exhibit.

ASA board member Joe Steinkamp (IN) joined ASA staff members Bill Schuermann and Michelle Hummel in St. Louis this week for the InfoAg Conference.  Approximately 1,400 people attended the event and participated in more than 60 sessions on various aspects of precision agriculture and data management.  The event also provided opportunities for ASA representatives to visit with over 65 companies focused on precision agriculture technology in the tradeshow.

Steinkamp participated in a video-taped interview about the role of precision agriculture in sustainable soybean production at the PrecisionAg Institute exhibit.  Steinkamp also joined ASA staff on Wednesday morning for a PrecisionAg Institute partners meeting.  The PrecisionAg Institute is an organization focused on advancing precision agriculture technology and its efficiency, stewardship and profitability for farmers.  Since the use of precision agriculture tools and practices continues to play a growing role in the sustainability and productivity of U.S. farm operations, ASA decided to join the Institute this spring as the first farmer organization to belong to the Institute. Other PrecisionAg Institute partners who participated in the meeting included AGCO, AgWorks, John Deere, Climate Corporation, Midwest Labratories, Raven, Simplot SmartFarm, SST, Topcon, Millennium Research and Wilbur-Ellis.
