American Soybean Association (ASA) President Wade Cowan contributed a guest blog to Agri-Pulse this week, on how agricultural development abroad and investments in food security is key to growing soy’s role in the global food system.
Cowan highlighted the potential for agricultural development programs to help grow new and developing foreign markets and improve relationships with existing trade partners. ASA’s voting delegates approved a resolution calling for expanded investment in and more strategic management of food security and agricultural development programs at the Commodity Classic in Phoenix this past February. The contribution is part of a partnership between Agri-Pulse and the Chicago Council to “explore how the U.S. agriculture and food sector can maintain its competitive edge and advance food security in an increasingly integrated and dynamic world.”
