The House Agriculture Committee is holding a hearing next week to discuss issues regarding international food assurance and food security and the role of U.S. farmers.
This hearing, scheduled for Sept. 30 at 10 a.m., will be an opportunity for the American Soybean Association (ASA) to discuss its support of in-kind U.S. commodities in the Food for Peace program and to present its work on promoting agricultural development abroad through the World Initiative for Soy in Human Health (WISHH). It will also be an opportunity for ASA to showcase its work and support for ensuring the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and U.S. agriculture have a voice in crafting a U.S. food security strategy.
ASA President Wade Cowan, Brownfield, Texas, will testify on behalf of ASA along with representatives from USA Rice, Didion Milling, Catholic Relief Service, Breedlove and Food for the Hungry.
