Ahead of today's Senate Agriculture Committee markup of the Agricultural Act of 2026, the American Soybean Association is urging lawmakers to advance a bipartisan five-year farm bill and keep the legislation moving toward final passage this year.
"America's soybean farmers continue to face a challenging farm economy marked by rising input costs, low commodity prices, and continued trade uncertainty," said ASA President and Ohio soybean farmer Scott Metzger. "Now is the time for Congress to come together and pass a farm bill that supports the agricultural community and reflects today's economic realities across the finish line. Congress is once again nearing the expiration of the thrice extended 2018 Farm Bill and time is running out to deliver a new farm bill to America’s farmers."
ASA urges the Senate Agriculture Committee to find a bipartisan compromise that will advance the Agricultural Act of 2026 and build on recent momentum to deliver a comprehensive five-year farm bill to the president's desk this year.
