Staff from the American Soybean Association (ASA) and World Initiative for Soy in Human Health (WISHH) joined volunteers from all around St. Louis last week to do their part in the fight against world hunger.

On this internationally recognized day, thousands of volunteers came together at John Burroughs School to package nutritious meals for hungry people both in St. Louis and abroad.

This year St. Louis World Food Day volunteers packaged 362,556 meals throughout the day. The St. Louis Area Foodbank will distribute the mac 'n' cheese meals locally and the international rice and bean meals will be delivered by the Outreach Program of Union, Iowa to a school-based feeding program in Tanzania.
