Last week, Liz Hare, program manager for the American Soybean Association’s World Initiative for Soy in Human Health Program (ASA/WISHH), traveled to Bogotá, Colombia to attend the “Soybeans: Socially Responsible and Sustainably Delicious” seminar sponsored by USSEC. The seminar was organized in conjunction with the Bogotá Laureles Rotary Club in Colombia and brought together various organizations working with soy dairy in the country.
ASA/WISHH sponsored the attendance of Alvaro Bravo from the Pro-Nutrition Committee in Guatemala. This committee in Guatemala is comprised of five Guatemalan Rotary Clubs that are working to bring 200 soycows to the country. The Guatemalan soycows process U.S. soybeans into high-protein soymilk. At the conference, Hare met with USSEC representatives Nayeli Villanova and Belinda Pignotti.
