American Soybean Association (ASA)/World Initiative For Soy in Human Health (WISHH) Division Director Alan F. Poock travelled to Fargo, North Dakota this week to meet with the North Dakota Soybean Council, Northern Crops Institute (NCI) and North Dakota Trade Office (NDTO).
At the North Dakota Soybean Council, Poock presented to the marketing committee on the 2016 Asian activities and events. The Asian division has activities valued around $1 million in non-checkoff funding in FY16.
During the meetings with NCI and NDTO, ideas on future collaboration were covered.
The Asian market is extremely important to North Dakota soybean producers, with 70% of the state’s production destined for Asia via the Pacific Northwest.
