The American Soybean Association’s World Initiative for Soy in Human Health (ASA/WISHH) program Executive Director Jim Hershey traveled to Washington, D.C. this week. He met with the FAS Office of Trade Promotions led by Christian Foster to discuss a Globally Based Initiative (GBI) project, US Agriculture products to Africa.
The ASA/WISHH program has recently completed two trade conferences in Africa with multiple US commodity groups with FY13 funding. A new FY14 proposal under GBI to expand the list of cooperators targeting priority countries in Africa is under review.
Hershey, AgSource Consultant Janae Brady and WISHH Program Development Manager Shannon Ward also participated in planning for the USDA and U.S. Agricultural Export Development Council Global Conference to take place in Washington, DC in July.
