ASA/WISHH Featured in Washington Newsletter

Nov 02, 2017

Story Partners public relations firm featured ASA’s WISHH in its Washington DC 100 newsletter for October, which focused on global food security issues. The WDC100 readership is 11,000. Additionally, media covered the newsletter with the message from WISHH Program Committee Member Kurt Maurath who also serves as the Kansas Soybean Commission Chairman. Maurath shared how WISHH connects trade and international development. “Trade is fundamental to global food security through supply of affordable, high-quality diets,” WISHH’s message stated. “Local production often does not meet demand so trade is essential to the availability of healthy, nutritious foods. The American Soybean Association’s WISHH Program connected trade and development to spawn a fish feed manufacturing sector in Pakistan. WISHH’s U.S. Department of Agriculture-funded project featured Kansas State University expertise to double tilapia growth rates, benefitting Pakistani farmers and consumers. U.S. programs like Pakistani aquaculture development, along with P.L 480 and McGovern-Dole Food for Education, are critical to food and economic security.”  The full newsletter is available here: http://bit.ly/2zL0uAy
