Dr. Javeed, Minister of Agriculture and Food, Government of Punjab,(Center) inaugurated the booth by feeding soy-based floating feed to tilapia at the FEEDing Pakistan booth. To the right and left of Dr. Javeed are Mr. R.S.N Janjua, ASA/WISHH Country Representative, Fozia Nazir, Aquaculture Associate and Sadaf, a recent graduate serving as booth ambassador.

The American Soybean Association’s World Initiative for Soy in Human Health (ASA/WISHH) program recently participated at the three-day Kisan Mela Conference and Exhibition in Lahore, Pakistan as part of the USDA-funded FEEDing Pakistan project.

More than 3,000 people visited the ASA/WISHH booth where they learned about the value of soy-based feed in aquaculture.  More than 200 people requested further information about aquaculture and ways they may become involved in the industry in Pakistan.  Oryza, the ASA/WISHH private sector supply chain partner of soy-based fish feed, spent all day at the booth meeting with previously identified future customers.
