ASA/WISHH Staff Discusses Emerging Markets at USSEC Annual Meeting, U.S. Soy Global Trade Exchange

American Soybean Association (ASA’s) World Initiative for Soy in Human Health (WISHH) staff attended the U.S. Soy Global Trade Exchange this week in Minneapolis, Minn. where they shared the many possibilities in the Asian, African and Latin American emerging markets with U.S. exporters.

ASA/WISHH Executive Director Jim Hershey attended the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) Annual Meeting on Tuesday, then joined ASA/WISHH Division Director for Asia Alan F. Poock for the opportunity to network with U.S. soy exporters.

Hershey and Poock also introduced the Pakistani trade team to U.S. exporters. On Wednesday, the Pakistani soy crushing trade team participated in the USSEC organized Trade Team Invitational, where they met with four U.S. exporters. U.S. soybean exports have grown tremendously to Pakistan over the past year and currently total 182,265 metric tons (MT) through June.
