The American Soybean Association's World Initiative for Soy in Human Health's (WISHH) Program Manager-Africa, Erica Morrow and Project Officer - Africa, Josh Neiderman, traveled to Uganda last week.  Accompanying them on the trip were WISHH Regional Representative for Africa, Anita Florido, and WISHH Technical Consultant, Marcus Hamilton.

While in Uganda the team met with WISHH's local supply-chain partner, SESACO.  SESACO is currently importing value-added soy proteins from the U.S.  The team met with representatives from local bakeries and meat companies, many of which are already buying U.S.-sourced soy products.  Hamilton also provided consultations to several meat companies on ways to incorporate soy into their existing products.  These types of supply-chain activities are made possible through Market Development funding from USDA.
