Comments Needed on Dicamba Draft Label by May 31

May 12, 2016

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed a draft label for the first dicamba formulation (M1691) for dicamba-tolerant soybeans. The American Soybean Association (ASA) has two main objections to the draft label. First, we oppose the prohibition on the common practice of tank mixing, and second, the draft’s impractical 110-foot perimeter buffer requirement.

The comment period for this draft runs through Tuesday, May 31, and we need farmers from a broad range of states and growing regions to submit comments on this matter.

Click here for a sample comment with areas for farmers to add personalized stories to their comments. Farmers should follow these steps to submit comments:

  1. Customize comments with stories from your operation

As an aside, if you prefer not to share stories of weed challenges, or comment on the specifics of why prohibition of tank mixing or the buffers won’t work for you, then please just fill out the fields in green below, and delete the fields in yellow, as the letter is designed to make sense with or without those examples.
