Three randomly-selected participants who shared their unique monarch/ monarch habitat pics on Facebook and Twitter have been selected from among almost 100 photo and video entries. Congratulations to our winners:
The contest generated almost 150-thousand social media impressions and brought in participants from top soybean-producing states including Missouri, Michigan, North Carolina, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Kansas, among others.
The fall social campaign highlighted the importance of monarch habitat and U.S. soybean growers’ part in preservation, underscoring ASA’s involvement with coalitions like Farmers for Monarchs and the Monarch Collaborative, while also encouraging growers to get involved and plant their own habitats.
A month-long photo contest was part of the outreach, with ASA asking farmers and other friends and followers to upload snapshots of their efforts to plant milkweed and protect the pollinators. The campaign garnered 96 photo and video submissions across Facebook and Twitter.
Thanks to everyone who helped us highlight these pollinators and the various conservation efforts of farmers across the country, including soil and water quality, and pollinator preservation. And, stay tuned this spring for more chances to win milkweed for your farms and yards.
