Scott Desing, Chief Business Development Officer for Devansoy, visited the American Soybean Association’s World Initiative for Soy in Human Health (ASA/WISHH) program’s office to meet with WISHH Executive Director Jim Hershey and Asia Program Manager Alan F. Poock. Devansoy is a manufacturer of soy protein ingredients used in a wide range of products, including soymilk, dairy analogs, cereal, baked goods and skin-care products. Through ASA/WISHH’s activities in Bangladesh, Devansoy has worked with PRAN, the country’s largest food processor, on how to use one of their ingredients in the manufacturing of soymilk. There is a growing interest by Bangladeshi food manufacturers on how to incorporate soy proteins into their products.
A wide range of topics were covered during the meeting, including future ASA/WISHH programs, trade teams to the U.S. and other Devansoy products.
Funding for ASA/WISHH’s work in Bangladesh is provided by the Foreign Agriculture Service’s (FAS) Emerging Market Program (EMP).
