As detailed by the Soy Transportation Coalition in the STC’s Washington Report this week, the U.S. Department of Transportation has detailed the impact of the federal government shutdown on its agencies. Among the potential impacts of the shutdown on the soybean supply chain are a 53 percent furlough in the staff of the Federal Railroad Administration, a 54 percent furlough in staff at the Maritime Administration, and a 98 percent furlough in staff at the Surface Transportation Board.
