Encourage Your Senators to Sign Biodiesel Support Letter

Jul 16, 2015

The American Soybean Association (ASA) encourages members to contact their U.S. Senate offices and urge them to sign onto a letter circulating in support of stronger biodiesel volumes in the pending Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) rule. As of Tuesday, 26 senators signed the letter. Sponsored by Sens. Charles Grassley (R-IA), Patty Murray (D-WA), Roy Blunt (R-MO) and Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND), the letter maintains that while the proposed rule is a step in the right direction after major delays—it still fails to recognize the domestic biodiesel industry’s full production potential. The deadline for signing the letter was extended and is still open.

Please contact your senators’ offices today and ask them to sign the letter. Talking points and contact information for your Senate offices can be found at the Soy Action Center here. To sign onto the letter, Senate offices should contact Kurt Kovarik in Sen. Grassley’s office (Kurt_Kovarik@grassley.senate.gov) or Josephine Eckert in Sen. Murray’s office (Josephine_Eckert@murray.senate.gov).
