ASA congratulates Louisiana soy growers for leading the nation in average yield per acre in 2014 with an average of 57 bushels per acre.
According to the Daily Agri-News Report from Louisiana Farm Bureau Agri-News Radio Network, this is a first for Louisiana and weather along with research into varieties, planting dates and soil types played a big part in the yields.
Following close behind at the number two state for average soybean yield per acre is Illinois with 56 bushels per acre.
